"Consider that you are a partner in your own education. I cannot MAKE you learn,
but can help you in this journey. We are both stalled if you do not explore the
ideas presented to you. This means more than 'knocking' out an assignment at
the last minute... it means thoughtful work.
Consider that this is your primary course of study. This is your intended means of
making a living... Consider that this should
possibly have more of a priority in your time and thinking. This is what you DO. It
is not play, it is not a hobby, it is not extracurricular.
Consider that I am your helper, your teacher, your advocate. I am only here so
that I can show you how to become what you wish to become. It is only possible,
however, if YOU become involved in your education. Doing the minimum,
turning in less than that doesn't diminish my teaching, but your learning. YOU
suffer from the lack of effort.
Don't finish an assignment to please me.... finish an assignment to please
yourself, to give yourself the greatest effort you can and achieve the best you can
as part of the learning process. Complete an assignment as a professional, with
attention to detail and content. Trust in the learning process and work with your
fully engaged intellect and willingness to discover.
If you always do the minimum required, you will get a minimal education. This
school is expensive. Many of your families are sacrificing because they believe in
your talent and your happiness. They want the best for you. Only you can make
this happen.... it's here for the taking, if you're willing to trust and work sincerely."
